Soccer - Cold and Colder

Jonah's second to last soccer game of the season was

on a Saturday and I got to go! Unfortunately, it was a

cold and rainy day. And after the pouring rain stopped

it got even colder! Alton went from happy to miserable,

and the rest of us were pretty uncomfortable as well.

were awesome. They played hard even in the cold and rain.

Classic Skating School Night

About a month ago, Bentley and Maxwell's school

had their free family skate night at Classic Skating.

Usually we hope the kids don't get the notes and we can

skip it, but this year Bentley made plans with his friends to go

and the rest of us followed them over to the skating rink.
I sat with Alton, while John and the other kids skated.
The kids loved it. They're hooked and we've already
bought passes for this summer. :)

Grandma and Pa drove in just as we did. We got to spend
the evening with them before they flew to NY to meet Morgan.

Hogle Zoo (Take 2)

A couple of years ago I got to go to Hogle Zoo with 

Jonah and his first grade class. Last month, I got to go with Ruby!

My friend, Stephanie, and I each brought our little kids,

It was a beautiful day (very unusual for 1st grade zoo day),

and we had a great time. Here's our little group.

I thought Alton was too little to notice the animals,

but he was really interested in them.

We let the kids ride the carousel - even Alton liked it.

When we got to the zoo, they had an area marked off 

for the buses. The parking lot was full, and they asked us

to drive back around to front, and to then walk through

the zoo to meet the class. I was ready to do that, but

my friend jumped out, moved the cones over a few inches,

waved off a guy who tried to take the spot she'd just cleared,

and directed me into the front row parking spot.

Sometimes it pays to bring along a rebel. :)

Milo fell asleep on the way home from the zoo.

It was a pretty big day for all of us.
