We had breakfast for lunch today and for a change, the boys ate really well.
Both of the big boys ate everything on their plates - twice!
Jonah took it a step further . . .
. . . he wanted every last drop of syrup, so he licked his plate clean. His face on the other hand was far from clean.
Bentley likes to play chess. His Dad taught him how to play a couple of years ago, and Bentley really likes to play against his Mom, because he usually wins. It helps that she doesn't know all the rules, and he can bend them to suit his situation. :) Today while the little boys were napping, Bentley and I played a game of chess, and like usual, he won.
The boys returned from Idaho with new shirts from Grandma and Grandpa Haws. 
They really like their new shirts, but are a little worried about wearing a "bad guy."

Today at sports camp the kids reviews all three of the sports that they worked on this week. Bentley has decided that basketball was his favorite.

When I took this picture, I thought, "there's no way they can score with three goalies," and right after that, the ball rolled into the goal. So funny.
Now it's Bentley's teams turn to play goalie - yes the entire team. They had two positions -goalie and the person kicking the ball, and all three kids stayed together.
Maxwell's arms have disappeared! I guess that's one way to keep from touching the soccer ball with your hands.
Today at sports camp, Bentley worked on soccer skills.
Besides their normal stretching, the boys did sit-ups and push-ups. Here they are doing push-ups.
While the kids were stretching, the coach asked if any of them could reach their elbows to the floor. Bentley cheated a little, but he did touch his elbows to the floor.
He says that his favorite part of soccer is kicking the ball.
Jonah and Maxwell made a friend today at sports camp. The three of them grabbed a soccer ball and played catch. I think they had a great time.
Today at sports camp, Bentley learned about t-ball. The kids practiced throwing, catching, hitting, and running the bases.
Bentley's favorite part was hitting the ball!

This week Bentley is attending the Tiny Tots Sports Skills Camp at our Rec Center. Today was basketball skills day. His coach played women's ball at BYU for 5 years, but I'm not sure her skills are being passed on to these 4 and 5 year olds. They had a great time, but I'm pretty sure they thought she was speaking a foreign language most of the time. First, she told them to "take a lap" to "warm up." Later, she talked about stance, bounce passes, defense, rebounds, and slides. She also used the term "slam dunk" and talked about a guy who stuck his tongue out while flying through the air. That sounded impressive, I'm sure, but I don't think Bentley imagined the same thing the coach did. Oh well. He had a great time and can't wait to go back tomorrow.
The coach asked the kids to do a crab walk while balancing the ball on their legs. This is what she got.
Does he have great form, or what? Now if only the basket was a few feet lower.

The boys gave their Dad a purple lightsaber. Now they each have one (the green one is Jonah's). At least that was the theory when we bought the purple lightsaber. Today, Bentley said, "Mom, isn't it good that we got Dad the purple lightsaber? Now Max and I can have TWO lightsabers!
I posted this picture on the boys' website a couple of years ago and called it "no cable." We don't have cable and they really enjoyed watching the washing machine.
Yesterday our neighbor's water pipe broke, and today it was repaired. It was expensive and inconvenient for her (no water for almost 24 hours), but for our boys it was pretty exciting. They had a great time watching the backhoe tear up our neighbor's yard this morning. And as you can see, we weren't the only ones entertained. That's our sweet neighbor in her lawn chair front row seat.
One day I plan to buy new furniture for our living room. But for now we have hand-me-down furniture that my kids love. They can take all the cushions off the back and seat of the couch and tada! - they have a trampoline. Bentley and Maxwell like to jump off the sides of the couch so they can jump really high. Even Jonah likes to bounce on our old couch. This activity is one of the major reasons we decided to sign Bentley up for gymnastics. It seemed like he needed a safe place to do his acrobatics. :)
My brother, Warren, and his wife, Becky, came to visit us. We're so glad we got to spend some time with them. Aunt Mindy sent Jonah a green light saber (because his brothers already had red and blue ones). While Jonah was sleeping, the big boys used Jonah's new light saber to fight Uncle Warren.
Bentley used two swords, and had an unlimited supply of healing potions, so I think he defeated his Uncle Warren. Bentley loves having his uncles to play with.
Maxwell preferred to watch from a safe distance.
Our city's annual summer carnival was this weekend. Maxwell was pretty nervous before this ride started because the boats are on water and he's afraid of water. He relaxed after the first lap or two, and had a great time. Bentley said this ride was his favorite, because there was a bell on each boat and he got to ring his the ENTIRE time he was on the ride.

Poor Jonah, they didn't have rides for tiny people, so he had to watch.
Finally . . . something for Jonah. He loved eating a snowcone. Dad couldn't feed him fast enough.
I think we stayed at the carnival for maybe and hour, but it was long enough for all of us. We don't have the endurance to be all day carnivalers. :)
