Milo's Birthday

Once we arrived home, Milo's birthday really got started.

He picked Panda Express for his (very late) birthday dinner.

Then he opened his presents.

The next day, he and I went on our birthday date.

Milo chose Winger's because he likes

their Kraft Macaroni and Cheese. :)

He also wanted chicken fingers,

so for he got TWO LUNCHES. 

We had fun working on the crossword

puzzle together. He was really good at finding words. 

Milo's birthday celebrations continued to the

next week! His kindergarten class celebrated

his birthday on Monday. He took treats to share

(powdered sugar doughnuts), a bag of things

or pictures of things he likes, and his teacher

made him an awesome birthday hat.

Milo had trouble smiling for his picture,

so his friend, Nora, helped him out. 

Alton was glad that there were a few

leftover doughnuts. He ate a few on the way home.

Then, he and Milo ate lunch in the

bike trailer on the patio.

I'm so glad these boys like each other,

and that we get to celebrate their birthdays.

Spring Break Day 7 - The Long Drive Home (or Milo's Birthday)

Our goal was to leave California at 7 am,

and we left at 7:30 - not bad. :)

We stopped in Barstow for breakfast at
McDonald's. Our next (and only other) stop

was in St. George for lunch at Snow Park.

Two tired parents who are ready to be home.

Alton didn't like movies or toys or songs

in the car. He did pretty well, but by the end

of the trip he was inconsolable. So much so,

that we were willing to suspend our "no eating

in the new car" rule. I offered him a pack of

fruit snacks or some animal crackers.

Luckily for us, he was just happy to hold the

unopened packages for the last hour or so of the trip.

He didn't want them opened at all!

We arrived home in 11 1/2 hours!

30 minutes faster than our normal trip. :)

We unpacked and picked up Panda Express for 

Milo's birthday dinner. :)

It was wonderful to see our family,

and we were happy to be home safely.

Spring Break Day 6 - Birthday Party!

After the Museum, we put Shrek on for the kids,

and Brent, Judy, John, Alton, and I went to Scoops.

Alton got the soy salted chocolate (and shared with me).

John had the caramel almond,

and I had half a scoop of brown bread 

and half a scoop of beet cashew balsamic. Yum.

After the ice cream, it was time for the party!

Joseph came over, and we celebrated Alton,

Milo, and David's birthdays. They

Grandpa and Grandma R got Alton a truck with letters!

We said goodbye to our R Family,

and got ready for the long drive home the next day.

Spring Break Day 6 - Gene Autry Museum

On our final day in California, we had to decide

between two activities we'd hoped to do.

The kids were split on what they wanted to do,

and the adults chose the Gene Autry Museum

instead of the Griffeth Observatory. There were

a few tears shed, but everything was all right in the end. :)

The kids were excited tor the green screen,

but they got a little wild and were banned from it

before everyone got a turn. It was really popular

and there were a bunch of other kids trying 

to use it, too. Waiting in lines was not happening. :(

Alton liked the cars and motorcycles.

Alton also liked the stairs.

This horse was probably the biggest hit of the Museum.

All of the kids liked it.
