Updates:
Bentley - Has "discovered" (and then introduced his brothers to)
Calvin and Hobbes books. I used to think the books were sort
of cute and funny. But having one (or all three) of the big boys
quoting Calvin all day long is getting old pretty fast. :(
He is trying to decide whether to try out for Bantam
(the competitive basketball league) or to play rec ball again.
Bentley is doing pretty well in school. He had a rough week
or two behavior-wise, but isn't having trouble with that, now.
His teacher says he's very smart and should be getting straight A's.
He just has problems remembering to turn things in, and
likes to do his assignments the quickest and easiest ways possible.
Those two factors don't usually result in "A" work.
Maxwell - He is doing really well in school. He has two
new best friends and is getting the hang of the large
amounts of homework most nights. If things go well, a good
friend from his old school will be moving into our neighborhood
at the end of the month. He is hoping for that (so am I).
Max isn't sure whether he wants to play basketball this year.
He just finished (tonight!) reading the
Fablehaven series.
He isn't sure what he wants to be for Halloween. Maybe a
Cyberman, or a Dr. Who. Maxwell is a Bear Scout now,
and he loves being in his mother's den. Okay, I love having
him in my den, and I'm pretty sure he likes going with me. :)
Jonah - Fall soccer season is over, so Jonah has the winter off.
He has a new partner in piano this year, and he's doing great.
Last week Jonah came home from school early on Tuesday.
He says he prayed that he would get the day off.
Hopefully he won't hope for that too often.
I am teaching PE for Jonah's class this year, and he likes
having me in his class each week. One year ago, he decided to
be a skeleton for Halloween THIS year. I bought a skeleton
costume on clearance, and he actually wants to use it!
All of the kids at school like Jonah, but he doesn't seem to
have a set group of friends this year. I am still trying to figure
out if he is happy about that or not. I hope he is okay.
Ruby - I don't think she has cut her hair in the last month.
Let's hope that trend continues. She seems to like dance,
and she loved cheer this month. She loves to draw pictures
and to color. Ruby also loves all of the "grandmas" on our
street and likes to talk to them whenever she can.
She will be getting her own room later this month
(as Milo moves in with Jonah, and the two older boys
move into the guest room), and hopes to one day have a
sister to share her room. We've asked the kids to choose
costumes that we already have, and she can't decide which or
her many costumes she should wear for Halloween. One of her
favorite friends moved to Argentina last week, and another good
friend will be moving to "Disneyland" at the end of the month.
Ruby is tired of people moving away.
Milo - Although he is 3 1/2, Milo has just recently morphed into
the difficult 3 year old phase that our other kids went through.
He can still be very cute and fun, but he also throws tantrums,
tells "stories," fights with his siblings, yells, whines, and cries.
I think he likes our kindermusik class. He doesn't always do
what the teacher tells him to do, and he doesn't always like
to be my partner, but he does seem to look forward to the class.
He likes the stories we've learned and will sometimes play the
games with me at home. He loves to help cook. On Saturdays,
he helps John make pancakes, and whenever I make something
that requires measuring cups or spoons, he wants to help.
Today he found Maxwell's old Bear costume (Halloween 2005)
and says he wants wear that for his costume this year.
