Wrapping up 2014

Jonah is working on one of his Christmas presents.

Ruby finally got to go on her lunch date with her Dad.

She chose El Azteca for their horchata.

Alton and Milo set the table, and then Alton sat ON

the table and waited for me to notice.

Heater vent! These two have the right idea.

It has been crazy cold the last few days.

Ruby and Max went outside anyway. 

Alton put his egg nog cup under the ice dispenser in the

kids' kitchen. Although one of the other kids might have

done this, I don't remember ever seeing it. Funny.

Ruby's book tower (she is super creative - especially

when she is supposed to be sleeping). :)

Alton has had croup, and he likes to sleep right next to me.

He wraps his arms around my neck, threads his fingers 

through my hair, and puts his cheek next to mine.

He is so sweet. I hope he feels better soon.

Alton's Snowy Adventure (it sounded like a good idea)

After watching some of his siblings play outside in the snow,

Alton decided that he wanted to give it a try.

We found his coat, some boots, and gloves

(but he refused the gloves - a rookie mistake).

I hoped to watch from the warmth of the kitchen,

but it was not to be. He wanted someone with him.

As I watched him meander through the snow, I wondered

if he had an ultimate destination in mind. He did.

He wanted a ride in the bike trailer.

I talked him into trying out a sled instead, 

and he liked that, at first.

After a while he got really unhappy.

My guess is that his hands were frozen because he wasn't

wearing gloves and he kept sticking them in the snow.

He was angry in the sled,

and he was angry out of the sled,

so I took him in the house where he could be

angry AND WARM.
