Morgan and Co.

We were so happy when Spencer called to say that he
was bringing his family to Idaho and Utah for a visit!
Pa and Grandma were able to come down that weekend
to watch the boys and Ruby play basketball,
so it was a great weekend. We loved seeing sweet Morgan
and her parents. I am not sure she loved seeing us,
but that's okay. :) We cheered for Bentley and Max
at their game, and then Ruby at hers. Bentley and Maxwell
got to go to dinner with the grownups while Ruby
played with a friend, and the rest of us went to the Pinewood Derby.
We got to spend a little time with them on Sunday morning,
and then the New York and Idaho H family headed north.

Valentines Boxes

Ruby wanted a Panda/Hollywood Valentine Box.

Her original idea included the Panda's outstretched hand

having a hole in it to allow the Valentines to travel down

its arm and into the box. We scaled things back a little,

and I think she was happy with the finished product.

Milo wanted a TV and Wii mote, so that's what we made.

We had a computer monitor box downstairs

that worked perfectly for the TV.

Jonah's brainstormed some different ideas,

but settled on a shield with his coat of armor.

Our knight was pretty happy with his work.

Alton was excited to take Valentines around to his friends

from church, AND to make a box. Luckily he was happy to

keep things simple. He colored a Thomas picture

and we glued it to his box. His siblings gave him

Valentines, and we had a happy boy. :)

Valentines Hearts 2016

Pinewood Derby 2016

This was Jonah's third and final Pinewood Derby!

He was excited to make his car and to race.

John, Milo, and Alton came to cheer him one,

and I was there to help with the Derby.

Jonah's car was fast and won a lot of races.

He lost a wheel near the end of the Derby, and he and

John stuck it back on. That fix didn't last, so Jonah

took it to Brother Crapo's fix-it table.

He finished the Derby without any further mishaps,

and with a 3rd place ribbon! A great way to finish

off his Pinewood Derby Career.

BOOM Concert

Maxwell had a concert at the high school last month.

All of the kids in band who will attend Orem High School

were invited to participate in the concert. 

They call it the BOOM Concert -  Bands of Orem Mixer.

The Beginning Band Students performed, and then

their parents were invited onstage to take pictures

and video as the students played their song a second time.

Maxwell loved having me up on stage with him. :)

At the end of the concert all of the Jr. High kids came on

stage and played together - it was a tight fit!

Max is still thinking about playing the saxophone next

year, so we might be back at this concert a year from now. :)

Bedtime Story

The big boys helped Alton facetime Mindy 

for a bedtime reading of There's a Wocket in my Pocket.

Alton liked the story, but missed having Mindy

(and the candy that she always brings) here at our home.
