Snowball fight!

We got our first real snow last night and this morning, Bentley ventured outside to play in it. At first, Jonah and Maxwell didn't want to go out, but after watching Bentley for a little while, they changed their minds.

Bentley really wanted a snowball fight, and eventually the other two agreed.

When the fight was over, they came inside for hot chocolate and toast, then watched CARS together. (their current favorite movie)

Pregnancy Proof

Today I'm 38 weeks, and 1 day!

O Christmas Tree

This afternoon the boys helped put up and decorate our Christmas tree.

There was only one near injury - when Maxwell accidently (?) whacked Bentley in the face with a tree limb.

Maxwell gave our family prayer tonight, and he asked Heavenly Father to bless our "pretend Christmas Tree."

BYU Basketball Game

Last night we took the boys to the BYU Men's Basketball games vs. Southern Utah University.
They weren't sure what to expect (neither were we), because they'd never really been before. When Bentley was 15 months old, we took him to a game, but we hadn't been back.

THEY LOVED IT!
All three boys cheered (although I'm not sure Jonah knew why). Bentley and Maxwell hugged each other whenever BYU scored. They were so happy we were winning. Bentley loved watching the scoreboard and keeping track of both teams' points. We left at halftime, and the first thing Bentley wanted to know when he saw his Grandpa Haws this morning was, "how many points did BYU have?"

I think BYU has some new fans. :)

Baby Quilt - finished!

I finished the baby's quilt Wednesday afternoon!
(now I can cross another thing off my list) :)

Pilgrims and Turkeys

Today at JoySchool we talked about the first Thanksgiving. We made corn bread, made a thankful list that goes from the ceiling to the floor, ate the corn bread while wearing pilgrim hats, and made turkeys.

Max: Where are the baby's feet?
Mom: Here at the top of my tummy.
Max: Can I see them?
Mom: No, they're inside of me.
Max: Well, can we take you apart
so I can tickle the baby's feet,
and then we'll put you back together again?
Mom: No.

My List

This is "My List" of things to do before the baby is born.

This morning we had our final quarterly activity for Primary, and this afternoon, I got to cross one more thing off my list.

That's pretty much my focus these days.

5 Senses

Today at Joy School we finger painted with chocolate pudding and talked about all of the senses that we used while we were doing it.

Bentley loved it . . .
. . . Jonah loved it . . .
. . . but Maxwell wanted no part of it. :)

FYI - room update

Bentley still doesn't have a bed frame in his new room (it's empty in Jonah's room), but he does have his dresser and his name on the door with Maxwell's. Jonah is now solo!

Story Time

Today John sat down with Jonah and began reading to him. It only took a few minutes for Maxwell and Bentley to join them. The boys really like books and they love their wonderful Dad.

Bentley's Party

Bentley had his birthday party today. He chose a Batman theme. Here he is ready for the party.
The kids colored pictures, played games, ate cake, and Bentley opened presents.
The party ended with a pinata. Luckily, Bentley has a tall Uncle who was willing to hold the pinata up for a very long time while the kids pulled almost every string before the thing finally opened. (thanks Mikey)
Bentley's birthday is now officially over. It lasted almost one week. Last Sunday we sang to him in Primary, he had his actual birthday and family party on Wednesday, and the friend party today. What a lucky guy.

Today Maxwell asked me when it would be August (his birthday month). I guess it's more fun to be the birthday boy than to be the brother of the birthday boy. :)

Game Night

Spencer and Brianna stopped by tonight and got roped into playing games with the boys.

Spencer tried to play Maxwell in Chess . . .

. . . while Brianna and Bentley played Four to Win.

Jonah went back and forth observing the two games. :)

Green Thumbs

Bentley is getting an early start in growing things and seems to have talent for it - like his Dad. The top picture is of the tomatoes John rescued from his plants before the first frost. They're slowly turning red and we're enjoying the harvest. It's so nice to have tomatoes from our own garden.

The bottom picture is of Bentley with his Joy School garden. Several weeks ago we were talking about the Joy of the Earth. One lesson had the kids plant 2 corn kernels and 2 kidney beans in a baby food jar with a wet paper towel. (so they could see the roots going down and the plant growing up) Bentley's plant is out of control! (the bean plant is on the right, and the corn is on the left)
