Mindy and I first saw the play, Xanadu, in 2012,
just before we went to New York to see Spencer.
We'd grown up loving the Olivia Newton-John movie
and so we bought tickets to the play at the Hale Center Theater.
We had no idea what we were in for -
but we loved it! The play was hilarious!
Our faces hurt from laughing, and we really wished
that our Mom had been there. We knew she'd love it, too.
The director, Chris Clark, was diagnosed with ALS earlier
this year, and as a fundraiser much of the original cast
agreed to come back and stage some special shows.
Mindy, Mom, Dad, Greg, Kristina, and I were all able to go.
And it was just as great as it was the first time!
We (well some of us) dressed up in our 80s clothes
and laughed till our faces hurt. Mom says she'll have to
remember not to wear makeup the next time she sees it,
because she laughed so hard that she cried it all off.
I sure hope we'll get to see it again.
Maybe I'll be able to talk John in to seeing it with me. :)
