Firekracker 5

Milo and Ruby both made New Year's Resolutions to

run a 5K this year. A couple of weeks into our training,

I mentioned to Ruby that she had run 1 1/2 miles,

and that she was halfway to her goal of 3 miles!

She said, "What?!?! A 5K is 3 MILES???? 

Why didn't anyone tell me that??!?!"

But she finished her training and ran the 5K!

Milo was pretty difficult to train. We made him

run with me so that he could pace himself and not

get worn out before the end of the race. Most mornings

when we ran, he would complain and want to stop.

For the 5K, John and Bentley both ran their hardest.

Ruby ran with Maxwell because she said I was too slow.

I made Milo run with me because I didn't want him to 

get lost or hurt on the course. And he complained the whole

time that I was too slow and holding him back!

When we got to the last 1/2 mile or so, I told him he

could leave me behind. And he did!

He put it in turbo and left me in the dust!

We took a "Before" photo, and then one after the race.

I missed the memo on making a face in the "After" photo.

Spencer and Brianna ran, and it will likely be the only

time I will ever beat them - because Brianna was pregnant. :)
